How to watch the Premier League game between Newcastle and Manchester Utd on TV this afternoon.
Newcastle United will look to continue their impressive run of form when they host Manchester United this weekend, with Eddie Howe’s side aiming to complete a league double over the Red Devils for the first time since 1931.
What TV channel is Newcastle Utd v Manchester United on?
The match is live on Sky Sports Main Event in the UK and will be broadcast from the kick off time of 4.30PM.
The Magpies have hit their stride in recent weeks, building on their 2-1 EFL Cup triumph over Liverpool in March with back-to-back league victories against Brentford and Leicester City. That strong form has seen them draw level on points with Chelsea in fourth place and crucially, Newcastle have a game in hand.
Having already claimed a 2-0 win at Old Trafford earlier this season, Newcastle will be confident heading into this encounter. They’ve won three of their last five home meetings with Manchester United and have made St James’ Park a difficult place to visit, winning eight of their last eleven games on home soil.
Goals could be on the cards too, with both sides scoring in five of their last six home fixtures in all competitions.
For Manchester United, defensive frailties once again proved costly in midweek as they conceded a late equaliser to Lyon in the UEFA Europa League. Joshua Zirkzee appeared to have secured a valuable away win with an 88th-minute strike, only for another error from Andre Onanam, his second of the match to gift the French side a route back.
With that setback, Ruben Amorim’s men remain well positioned to reach the Europa League semi finals ahead of the return leg at Old Trafford next week. But with United currently languishing in 13th in the Premier League and little left to play for domestically, Amorim may opt to rotate his squad for Sunday’s visit to Tyneside.
With Newcastle chasing Champions League football and Manchester United’s focus potentially shifting to Europe, all signs point towards an opportunity for the Magpies to make history.
